Blowing in the wind........
In our life lot of questions remain unanswered because we never find anyone who can answer them to our satisfaction.
I used to doubt lot about myself; there were lot of questions and conversations which keep on swirling around me like.
-I compromised because I didn’t have any choice. Did I?
-I want to do, but don’t think I can, Can I?
-What I am doing, is it really what I want to do in my life?
I met lot of wonderful people, Read countless self help books and listened to great words and speeches of legends. Instant feeling was awesome, great, and too inspiring but nothing was lasting, permanent and eternal.
Mentally tired, confused and tangled in thoughts, I sat near my window and suddenly my gaze shifted to the mirror hanging opposite to the window.
I was observing my reflection (Not getting narcissist), outside was quite windy as I could hear the rumbling sound of tree braches. And the thought came “isn’t the answer lies with in not outside, Isn’t it to know who I am and feel proud of I am, who I am”. But to streamline my thoughts I was searching some help to guide me in the whole process of realization and now I observed reflection of a tree behind my reflection in the mirror and I realized answer was always there but you see only what you want to see.
Then I started comparing myself with the tree. I will not bore you by telling what I discovered about my self but of course I will elaborate about the analogy so we all can find our value tree...
Roots are our life values and beliefs. Can a tree survive if you remove the sand around it, or even some time replace with some different sand, very seldom so we are; We should never compromise with our values and beliefs. Values are firmly rooted assumptions which one has acquired over the course of one’s life regarding what is right and wrong and beliefs are personally held judgment of what is important in life and both eventually mould our character.
Trunk we can relate to our life structure and aspects. You might have observed lot of branches coming out of trunk; these branches are like relationships and connections of our life for instance social, professional, personal and even more. Leonardo da Vinci an Italian polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, botanist and writer, can you imagine the connections in his life and how excellent he was in most of them. All these relations coming together make our life structure and aspects decide what we want in our life structure.
In the whole tree, flowers are the one who constantly attract our attention and we can relate them to our strengths, what makes us special?
These are conspicuously visible, reflect in our attitude and attract attention.
And it is quite related to what we like, because something which we don’t like can never be our strength.
But do remember to strengthen your strengths and doubt your doubts, never strengthen your doubts and doubt your strengths.
Leaves are our knowledge and expertise.
It is a fact that all normal human beings are born with a powerful urge to learn and it is a pity that most of them loose this urge even before they reach maturity. This is perhaps the most insidious of human tragedies. If you a are parent, you perhaps remember, that crucial and trying period in which your child constantly asked “Why?”?
How often we ourselves do it.
Only needed is to recapture that powerful urge to learn with which we were born.
Thorns are challenges, threats and difficulties, we face in our life.
Value of good without bad! Value of sweet without sour! Value of pleasant summer without harsh winter!
Isn’t only by seeking challenges, we can hope to find the best in ourselves.
And believe me when we will grow old, we will be more disappointed not on the things which we didn’t do well but on the things which we didn’t try though we want to.
Buds are our hopes for future and their potential.
To explain this I have a story to tell you.
4 candles were talking to each other.
The first candle said "I am Peace"
"The world is so full of anger and fighting that nobody can keep me alight" and it went out completely.
Then the second candle said
"I am Faith" "I am no longer indispensable. It does not make any sense that I stay awake one moment longer." Then a breeze softly blew out Faith's flame.
Sadly the third candle began to speak
"I am Love" "People don't understand my importance, so they put me aside.
They even forget to love nearest to them.
I don't have the strength to stay alight" and waiting no further it went out.
A child entered the room where the candles were.
And saw that three of the candles were unlit.
"Why are you not burning?" said the child
"You are supposed to stay alight until the very end"
And the child was frightened and began to cry.
Then the fourth candle said
"Don't be afraid. I am hope,
And while I am burning we can light the other candles"
With shining eyes the child took the candle of Hope and lit the other candles.
The flame of Hope should never go out from our life,
And now last but not least---
Fruits are our achievements.
Don’t confuse this with success; there is a distinction between success and achievement.
Achievement is the knowledge that you have studied, worked hard to acquire and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others, and that's nice too, but not as important or satisfying.
Dear Friends, I put lot of thoughts in each analogy and lot of things became clear to me eventually. Now I am more aware of myself and know what I am capable of and which course is the best for me.
I am not saying to follow what I have just said but I want to excite in you the power of thinking for yourself.
Don’t be afraid.
Answer my friend is blowing in the wind,
Answer is blowing in the wind.
